Villa Skovvangen

This ongoing project explores the transformation of a villa set close to the forest, designed to support both family life and guests.

The client wished to create a more functional home with a clearer layout, improved flow, and a strong connection between spaces and the surrounding landscape. A key ambition was to establish a central living area, while ensuring a natural balance between openness and privacy.

The project updates the villa with respect for its original architecture, creating a cohesive and contemporary home.

Layout and spatial flow

The ground floor layout was reconfigured to create a clearer and more functional flow throughout the villa. A new extension introduces an open kitchen and living area, positioned as the central gathering space with direct connection to the garden and terrace. Large window sections strengthen the relationship between inside and outside.

The existing living room is preserved and opened up, allowing more light and spatial continuity, while original elements such as the stone fireplace are maintained. A new entrance creates a more defined arrival, and additional functions, including a bathroom, office, and guest room, are integrated into the layout to support everyday life.

All technical installations were completely replaced, ensuring modern, energy-efficient systems throughout. The exterior was redesigned with a refined material palette, balancing clean architectural lines with natural textures. Carefully selected wood cladding adds warmth and depth, while the new facade treatment enhances the villa’s presence in its surroundings.

The result is a residence that feels both grounded and elevated, a space where architecture, materiality, and functionality come together to create a lasting and timeless living experience.
