Private Residence

Villa Frederiksberg

In a beautiful villa on Frederiksberg, the client wished to rethink the layout of their home to better support everyday life. The main ambition was to create a larger kitchen with direct access to the balcony, establish a more private and practical connection between bathroom and toilet, and improve the overall flow throughout the home.

The existing layout felt fragmented and did not fully utilise the potential of the space. The goal was to create a clearer structure and a more natural connection between rooms—without compromising the character of the villa.

After

The solution was achieved by carefully reworking the floor plan. Several rooms were combined, and a new distribution corridor was introduced between the kitchen and bathroom, improving both privacy and functionality. This created a more intuitive flow and allowed the kitchen to become a central and active part of the home.

“For me, this project was about creating a home that feels easy to live in. By rethinking the layout and strengthening the connections between spaces, the house now supports everyday life in a much more natural way.”

- Mette Risbæk, Architect

The new kitchen was designed with simplicity and longevity in mind. Inspired by Vipp kitchens, the layout balances functionality with a calm and restrained expression. Direct access to the balcony brings daylight and a stronger connection to the outdoors, while sightlines through the home enhance the sense of space and continuity.

Throughout the project, simplicity guided both the overall layout and the interior choices. The result is a home that feels open, balanced, and easy to navigate, where each space supports daily use while contributing to a coherent whole.
