Beer Bar

ØB Ølbar

ØB Ølbar was envisioned as an inviting and convivial beer bar in the heart of Østerbro, a place to enjoy craft beer in an informal yet considered setting.
The client’s ambition was to transform a former restaurant into a contemporary bar experience, requiring a clear repositioning of both brand identity and interior expression.

The challenge was to create a distinct and impactful transformation within a short timeframe, while maintaining a relaxed and approachable atmosphere.

“I design spaces that support people and the moments they share. Spaces that invite people in and make them want to stay.”

- Mette Risbæk

The design approach focused on clarity, character, and craftsmanship. From the street, branding elements on the facade establish an inviting and informal tone, drawing guests naturally into the space.

Inside, a light and simple design language is enriched by deliberate contrasts. Deep green textured walls are paired with subtle accents of orange, introducing a playful yet confident expression. Woodwork and carefully selected finishes highlight the appreciation of craft and material honesty.

A varied seating landscape structures the space into distinct social zones. From intimate window seating to informal bar gatherings and larger communal tables, allowing the bar to support multiple ways of social interaction.

The project also reflects a clear sustainability mindset. By reusing existing elements and incorporating upcycled furnishings, the transformation gives new life to both objects and space, reinforcing a thoughtful and responsible design approach.
